- Food import regulations vary from country to country.
- Perishable items and unprocessed food (e.g., fruits,
vegetables, meats, and dairy products) may not be included in baggage.
- Small quantities of well-wrapped processed food may
be included in the regular
baggage allowance not in excess baggage, as this is transported
subject to space availability and the items could spoil in transit (arriving
up to six days later).
- Food items must be declared on customs forms upon
arrival at destination. Undeclared items may be confiscated and the
traveler fined (passengers entering the United States are subject to
fines of up to US $1,000).
