New Policy for Carry-on Baggage

We would also like to remind you that the measures established by regional airport authorities are strictly for security and logistical purposes regardless of your origin and/or destination.

To expedite the screening process through security and for your own safety and convenience, please remember to arrive to the airport at least 3 hours prior to your flight departure; and travel with light-weight carry-on baggage, packaged neatly and simply.

Liquids

If you are traveling with any liquids please take into consideration the following:

  • Baby formula, breast milk, baby food, and juices in small containers if you are traveling with a child are permitted.
  • Medications (including liquids, gels, and aerosols).
  • Liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers not exceeding 3.4oz (100ml) each. They must be placed together in one transparent 1-quart (1lit) zip-lock bag, measuring no more than 8.3 x 7.3 in (21 x 18.5 cm).

The bag must be sealed and the contents placed so that visual or X-ray inspection may be done separate from your carry-on baggage.

If any of the articles do not fit into a transparent 1-quart re-sealable bag and/or exceeds 3.4oz (100ml), you must declare it to the security personnel at the boarding gate.

Forbidden

Any liquids, gels, or aerosols not meeting the above criteria must be packed in checked baggage. These include drinks, creams, lotions, shampoo, tooth paste, hair gel, liquid cosmetics and all other products of a liquid or gelatinous consistency in containers exceeding the maximum permitted amount of 3.4oz or 100ml in carry-on baggage.

If you are carrying liquids, gels and/or aerosols to the waiting area or boarding gate, be aware that you can be subject to a secondary inspection.

Duty Free

Articles purchased at duty-free stores within the airport's sterile area (after transiting the security checkpoint) are permitted; however the following may occur:

  • If your flight is to the U.S.: The store may not give you your item(s) until you are at the boarding gate or on board the aircraft.
  • If your flight is departing from the U.S.: You may receive your item(s) in the store where you bought them.
Checkpoints
  • Prior to boarding, you must pass through established security checkpoints for carry-on baggage inspection.
  • If you wish to leave the area prior to boarding, you must be re-inspected before re-entering.
  • For flights with stops en-route, you will be required to disembark for inspection at the final connecting point.
